Carnauba Wax Can Yellow Your Boat

effects of carnauba wax

AURORA CLEAR VIEW has a new look. This proven performer has always been easy for dealers to sell because the kit is blister packed on a four color, peg board display, backer card that shows the remarkable before and after results. The new packaging keeps the popular blister and backer card, but now the two bottles that make up the kit are black and have four color labels, showing off the product in action.

The easy to use kit contains a cleaner and protector. Not only will it restore port holes, hatches, Isinglass windows and foggy compass domes and instrument covers, but using Clear View on new see through plastic dramatically increase the useful life of the plastics. Many marine dealers claim that Clear View just flies off the shelf. The attractive packaging sells the product and word of mouth about how well it works continues to bring new customers into the store.

Several boat manufacturers are now recommending to their customers that they no longer wax their boats with Carnauba Wax because of the cosmetic damage that it causes. They recommend using a synthetic polish instead.

When the sun heats up the wax on your boat it melts and releases the natural yellow / brown dye in the wax, which can cause staining. Aurora Premium Boat Shine is completely synthetic and does not contain pigments or dye so it will not cause yellowing or discoloration on your boat. The heat from the sun does not melt it so it stays diamond hard and anti-static. Waxes as you know, become greasy when they are warmed and attract and hold dirt and black streaks.

You may remember your parents or grandparents applying Carnauba Wax to their floors back in the 1950’s and 60’s. After a few months, the floors would start to turn yellow and they would have to be stripped with ammonia, steel wool pads and a heavy scrubbing, polishing machine. New wax would be applied and the whole process repeated in a few months.

Wax technology has improved somewhat since then and better waxes are more refined to remove more of the natural dye, but the basic properties still remain. This is why boat manufacturers are telling their customers to switch to newer synthetic products to protect their fiberglass boats. Aurora Premium Boat Shine is guaranteed not to contain Carnauba Wax and will not yellow or discolor your boat.
