Tips From the Pros
How to...
Clean Non-Skid Decks
|
|
Background
- Non Skid Decks |
The Non Skid or textured
patterns on your deck are designed
to provide a non slip surface
for you to walk on, even when
the deck is wet. These areas
are usually reinforced to support
your weight without bending
or cracking.
These textured areas should
not be waxed or polished with
conventional waxes and polishes
(since this defeats the Non
Slip purpose) therefore they
have a tendency to collect
and hold dirt more readily
than the smooth, polished surfaces
of your boat. Non Skids require
constant cleaning, sometimes
daily, in order to keep your
boat in Bristol condition and
to avoid long term problems
such as permanent staining,
greying or yellowing.

Aurora Boat Scrub with
Hypexine is one of the easiest
to use, safest and most effective
Non Skid cleaners available.

Hypexine to remove the most
stubborn stains (even rust),
soot, atmospheric fallout,
bird droppings,etc. and contains
brighteners to enhance the
beauty of your boat.

Caution: Things to Avoid
when Cleaning Non Skids
1) Detergent based cleaners,
such as dish soap, since they
are not free rinsing and the
residue attracts and holds
dirt and grime.
2) Abrasive household cleaners
or rubbing compounds, since
they will quickly eat through
your gel coat and permanently
ruin your finish.
3) Cleaners that are not Environment
Friendly and Biodegradable,
especially if you're cleaning
your boat on or near the water.
Most household cleaners fall
into this category. Check the
label. |
