Zebra Mussels on Pontoons Removing Preventing Attachments
Fred Billin asked:
My pontoon boat sits in a river that has zebra mussels. The zebra mussels are attached to the toons. Which of your products will clean them off the aluminum toons and help keep them off?

Algex will soften the Zebra Mussels so you can scrape them off. You may have to re-apply Algex to get the adhesive off. If the Pontoons are stained and oxidized, Alumabrite CBX will get them bright and shiny again. Spray on rinse off. If you want to protect them and keep them shiny you can apply Alumetron. This will also fill in the fissures in the aluminum to make them easier to keep clean. To protect the pontoons from attachment Apply 2 coats of VS721. If you store your boat out of the water over the winter, you can apply one coat now and another in the spring.
Thanks for your question.
