Will VS721 keep Zebra Mussels and Slime off my new painted aluminum boat?
Bob McMorrow asked:
I just bought a brand new Lund 1850 IMPACT XS boat (19 LOA). It is an aluminum boat but the bottom is pained. I keep the boat in a slip at a marina on Lake Champlain in Vermont for the summer where zebra muscles and slime are a problem. I use the boat frequently.
Will one bottle of VS721 Bottom Coat be enough to apply 2 coats to the bottom?
Do I need to do any prep since this is a brand new boat that has not been in the water yet?

One bottle of VS721 will be enough for 2 coats. Degrease and prep the surface with Boat Clean Plus. Wet the surface with water, spray on some Boat Clean Plus, give it a good scrubbing with a sponge or terry towel, rinse clean and dry. Apply VS721 with a damp sponge and when it hazes up, wipe off the haze with a terry towel or microfiber cloth.
Zebra mussels will have a hard time sticking to VS721, but keep the slime at bay by wiping it off from time to time with a sponge or Marine Power Mitt and your boat bottom will remain clean and your boat fast.
