Will Sure Step create a non-skid surface on paint?
Barry asked:
Hi, can you tell me if I can use the Sure Step kit on Interlux Briteside enamel paint. I have recently painted the top deck of my 75′ house boat and I am looking for a product that will protect the paint and create a non skid surface.

For your convenience, I’ve highlighted the hyperlinks. Click on the hyperlink to get more information about the selected product.
Sure Step can be applied to the paint and will protect it but it will not add significant non-skid properties. It will maintain the same nonskid properties that you have now so if that’s acceptable then Sure Step is the product for you.
If on the other hand, the deck is slippery, then you first need to paint over it with a textured or non-skid paint. What many boat owners do is mix some non-skid grit into the final coat of paint, such as sand, glass beads or walnut shells, made especially for this purpose and apply that to give it a non-skid surface.
Sure Step can also be applied to textured, painted surfaces to protect it, make it easier to keep clean and maintain the shine, without making it slippery.
Thanks for your question,
