Will Algex remove barnacles from my pontoon?
Serge Maillet asked:
Hi. I saw on the website about Algex and wondering if i could order some. I live in New Brunswick. I got a pontoon and it is full with barnacle. I tried to scrape it and there is still some on it. I want it to know if Algex would remove the rest of it.

Hi Serge,
Spray Algex onto the barnacles and let it work for 30 to 60 minutes. This will soften the shells making them easier to scrape off. Next, spray Algex onto the adhesive rings and let it work for 30 to 60 minutes. This will soften the rings so they can be scraped away. When you apply Algex, apply it just to the areas that are fouled and keep it wet.
If allowed to dry, it can cause streaking.
After, you can brighten the aluminum with Alumabrite CBX and I suggest that you apply VS721 below the waterline to reduce the amount of marine growth that attaches to your boat and make future cleaning easier.
Go to our Website, Find a Dealer to locate the dealer closest to you. If there are no stocking dealers that are convenient then you can go to Buy Now and order online and we will ship your order by courier.
Thanks for your question,
