Jane A. asked:
My pontoons sit on rungs in trailer, will this product eat the glue and or carpet that the pontoons rest on, this is the only way I will have to apply the product, I cannot put the pontoons on blocks I have to clean it on the trailer.

Without knowing what the glue and carpet are made of, I can’t answer your question. If you don’t know, then the answer is to test Algex on an inconspicuous spot first.
In most cases, there is no damage as long as the bunks are rinsed well after cleaning with Algex. So if your bunks are made of marine grade carpeting and adhesive and you clean your pontoons, or at least what you can get to, launch your boat and rinse the bunks, they should be fine.
A better solution is to lift your pontoons off the bunks first, protect the bunks with plastic, clean and protect your pontoons and when you’re through, lower the boat back onto the trailer. That way you can get to the entire pontoon.
You can find out how to lift your boat off the trailer in the Ask the Skipper Blog, under: How to Lift Your Pontoon Boat off the Trailer Bunks
