Algex is safe for painted aluminum, providing that it is factory painted. If it has been re-painted, test the product on a small inconspicuous spot before cleaning the entire hull.
Algae Strip is NOT SAFE for paint or aluminum. It is intended for fiberglass only.
VS721 Bottom Coat is safe for painted aluminum and is recommended.
