How to make aluminum pontoons look new again on a used boat.
John R White asked:
I recently purchased a 2007 Avalon Pontoon Boat from a private owner. Can you recommend a product that I can use to clean the aluminum pontoons to make it look like new again?
Answer:
For your convenience, I’ve highlighted the hyperlinks. Click on the hyperlink to get more information about the selected product.
It all depends on the condition of your pontoons. If you have marine growth use Algex. If you just have dark stains you can brighten them by washing with Boat Clean Plus and then use Alumabrite CBX. If you have whitish etching or cloud or white streaks or spots or if they are a dull grey, you need to buff them out with Alumabuff and a Linear Buffer.
After you get them silver and shiny again, protect them with Alumetron (it lasts up to 10 years and comes with a 5 year warranty) and VS721.
Thanks for your question,
