How to maintain Alumetron
Question:
Greg Morris asked:
After the application of Alumetron, what is the best way to clean the treated surfaces of sea spray, etc.? Is it as simple as spraying with fresh water and wiping dry, or will this compromise the Alumetron?

Alumetron is quite durable and is designed to protect aluminum from environmental damage, including water, both salt and fresh. Rinsing with fresh water and wiping dry with a soft cloth such as a microfiber cloth or chamois is an excellent way to keep the silvery sparkle of your aluminum. If salt spots reoccur, you can wash the aluminum with a solution of Boat Clean Plus and water in a ratio of 1:8 and then rinse and dry. Your aluminum will look new for years.
