How to clean my boat bottom with the Marine Power Mitt

  Skipper

Robert asked:

I finished cleaning the bottom of my boat with the Green Genie algae remover with great results . I was told to clean the bottom with the mitt before putting the VS721 bottom coat on. My question is which product to use for this? I had the impression that I could use the mitt with the VS721 bottom coat to clean the acid off before using boat shine?

Answer:

For your convenience, I’ve highlighted the hyperlinks. Click on the hyperlink to get more information about the selected product.

There seems to be some confusion.

Green Genie is a salt based product, not acid. There is a small amount of acid added as a booster. Green Genie is biodegradable and can be rinsed clean with water. The reason for using Boat Scrub is to remove any other stains and scuffs that Green Genie didn’t remove.

You can use the Marine Power Mitt with Boat Clean Plus as well as Boat Scrub. Do not use it with VS721 or Premium Boat Shine. There are full instructions on the back of each bottle on how to apply these products.

After cleaning with Green Genie, scrub the bottom with Boat Scrub and a Marine Power Mitt. Rinse well and dry and then apply the VS721 bottom coat.

Thanks for your question,
