Cleaning Stainless Steel Props
John Mackenna asked:
Every year when the Sea Ray Pachanga comes out of the water the Stainless Steel Props are looking bad. There appears to be a tough coating of black marine growth deposit on them that is difficult to remove. How do I get them back to there original shine.

Spray on Aurora Algex , wait 20 to 30 minutes, give it a light scrubbing with a small scrub brush or rag (wear rubber gloves, protective clothing and eye protection), rinse clean. If the growth is heavy or really tough, you may have to repeat the process a few times, until your props gleam again. Algex will brighten the stainless as well as clean it.
Beware of using fiberglass bottom cleaners. The acids in them will darken and discolor your stainless props and eat the aluminum ones.
