Alumabrite CBX is concentrated and needs to be reduced with water to the proper strength. Also, it is time sensitive which means that it must be removed within a certain time. It’s very important to follow the instructions on the bottle. If either the solution is too strong or you leave it on too long it will turn the aluminum white. The only way to remove the white oxide is to use sand paper or bronze wool or you can use a buffing wheel and rubbing compound and polish it to a mirror finish..Afterwards, you should protect your pontoons with Alumetron to prevent staining and oxidation.
