What does brush on quick silver mean? With a paint brush? Or just use a rag to wipe it on?

You can apply Quick Silver either by brush or rag. The important thing is to get an even coat on and to get it into all the nooks and crannies such as around the screw or bolt heads and into the screwdriver slots. For these tight areas, a brush usually works better. If you miss a spot, the remaining rust will act as a seed to promote further rusting.
